I adopted Dozer 5 years ago from a shelter in Albuquerque, New
Mexico. I had recently gone through a personal tragedy and Dozer
was just what I needed.
He had been taken from his original owners by animal control due
to abuse/neglect. He has been a wonderful companion from day one.
We moved to Ocean City when my grandmother's health started to fail.
Having him around all the time has done wonders for her health.
Dozer also works part time as a greeter at animal health services,
where I work. His goofy personality is well known in Somers Point
and he has brought a lot of joy into people's lives.
When my grandmother was in Linwood Convalescent Center, Dozer visited
every day and he was so gentle and patient with everyone, the residents
really looked forward to his visits. Dozer should be Ocean City's
Dog of the Year 2006.
